Jenny Hobbs Takes Part in the Short Story Day Africa 21 Questions Challenge

Napoleon BonesJenny Hobbs, Director of the Franschhoek Literary Festival and author of Napoleon Bones, took part in the Short Story Day Africa 21 Questions Challenge.

Find out what Hobbs is reading, which of her characters she would have over for dinner and which author she would be if she could choose:

1. Do you actually enjoy writing, or do you write because you like the finished product?

I’ve enjoyed writing since I could pick up a pencil, and have continued to do so for seven decades, now on an amenable laptop.

2. What are you reading right now? And are you enjoying it? (No cheating and saying something that makes you sound like the intelligensia).

Sebastian Barry’s On Canaan’s Side and Colm Toibin’s Brooklyn (alternately). Greatly enjoying both Irish writers.
