Video: John van de Ruit Gives Advice on Taking Chances

John van de Ruit, author of the Spud series, which concluded with Spud – Exit, Pursued by a Bear last year, participated in an ad campaign by Brand SA where he spoke about his own coming-of-age tale as a young boy growing up in Durban and as a writer.

To get South Africans motivated about their role in the country, in whatever sphere of life, he imparts this wisdom: “if you don’t dip your toe into the water, you’ll never know the temperature”.
