Podcast: Heidi Holland Discusses 100 Years of Struggle: Mandela’s ANC

Shortly after the ANC’s centenary celebrations, Heidi Holland was interviewed about her book 100 Years of Struggle: Mandela’s ANC on the Radio Today programme Reading Matters, where Sue Grant-Marshall asked Holland about the book’s intriguing subtitle.

Holland explained, “I thought it was a good peg from which to observe a hundred years of struggle – through Nelson Mandela’s particular participation in the ANC”. According to Holland, “It was very much Mandela’s ANC for many years, but it certainly isn’t Mandela’s anymore”.
